糸を紡ぐ人、染める人、織る人で分業制になっているのは、それぞれが小さな規模で成り立ち、大きい工場を構える必要がないから。
手織り機とはいえ、人の手によって織られているので密度にムラがあり、機械で織った大量生産のものにはない味わいがあります。
