The cast iron build is solid enough that the dispenser stays put even when I'm yanking tape with one hand. The 1500g heft means no sliding around on my desk, and the black finish looks clean next to my other tools. It’s a simple thing, but tearing tape off evenly with that weighted base has been odd

I was a little surprised by how heavy this dispenser is (1.5kg of solid iron), but that weight makes it stable enough to tear tape one-handed without it sliding across the desk. The matte black finish and compact size fit neatly on my workspace.
